Puzzlement

Passing by the primate area one day, a zoo attendant happens to notice a chimpanzee sitting on a rock with an open book in either hand, looking first at one and then at the other. Upon closer examination, he identifies the books: the Bible, and Darwin's "Origin of Species". Curious, he asks the chimp, "What's with the books?" The chimp replies, "I'm trying to decide whether I'm my brother's keeper, or my keeper's brother."

Gala Dinner

A Gala Dinner to celebrate Alberta's 100th Anniversary will be held at the Capri Hotel in Red Deer - Oct. 1, 2005. The cost is $30/person. Neil Longson has volunteered to be our contact to the Red Deer Club and is contacting our members re: attendance.

Heinz Kleist has a new title and position at the Bank, that being

Assistant Vice President: Business Development. He will still be working out of the Southside Office.

He has also been awarded the German Canadian Friendship Award by the German Government. The Ambassador from Ottawa presented this to him on Sept.2,2005 in Edmonton. This is the first one handed out in 7 years.

He is understandably very proud of this as it refers to his work on behalf of the German Community of Alberta.

Smiles and laughter were the rule of the day as many of our members gathered on the U of A campus to once again serve a hearty breakfast to the Shinerama student volunteers.

This is always a fun event and the cause is a good one with the proceeds from the day going to fight Cystic Fibrosis in Canada. A few images of the frivolity follow……
